Overview:

 

Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China is looking for a PGA qualified golf coach to service their members and accompanied guests.

 

Sheshan is currently ranked as the No.1 golf course in China and sits at No.86 on Golf Digest’s “World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.” The golf course also plays host to the USD $9.5 Million WGC-HSBC Champions which is one of the biggest golf events in the world and sanctioned by all major professional tours including the PGA Tour and European Tour and counts towards the FedEx Cup and Race to Dubai.

 

With approximately 750 members, Sheshan is a busy Private Club featuring a Championship 18-hole golf course and world-class practice facility. The driving range has 20 covered hitting bays, a grass tee deck, large putting green, full sized chipping green, as well as greenside and fairway bunkers. Sheshan also has a small indoor coaching studio and much of the latest in coaching technology and equipment with Trackman, K-Vest, GASP Video software, as well as SNAG Golf.

 

The Sheshan Learning Center is a year round facility with Spring and Fall marking the busiest seasons. The coach should be a fully qualified by an international PGA with a proven track record and additional accreditations from various coaching programs such as TPI, Trackman, etc. The successful candidate will be up to date and knowledgeable about the latest technologies, equipment, and coaching systems.

 

Students will vary in ability and age but experience in coaching and developing juniors is very important. Proficiency in written/spoken English, adaptability, a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and willingness to work as a team are a must. Chinese (Mandarin) skills are an asset but not a requirement.

 

Work weeks are 6 days per week (Tuesday-Sunday) and compensation package includes:

 

  • 75% commission for lessons taught (most of an existing student portfolio will be passed to new coach)
  • Up to 7 weeks holiday per year (to be used during slower winter/summer seasons)
  • Partial housing allowance during slower months
  • Potential for equipment and apparel package
  • Daily lunch provided in the Clubhouse restaurant
  • Commissions for equipment sales and re-gripping

 

Previous working experience in China or Asia would be preffered.
